Toni Marie Cox is an artist, a pastry chef, and a proprietress. Toni completed her BA in fine arts from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Afterwards, Toni applied her talents to the culinary world. She notably honed her artistry as Executive Pastry Chef at Chicago’s elegant Mayfair Regent Hotel and Le Ciel Bleu. Disney sought out her talents to open The Disneyland Hotel, Paris.

In 1994, after three years in France, Toni returned and began to supply the Hinsdale area with her fabulous treats. Her experience, style, and artistry are evident in the jewel-like pastries and cakes created, as well as the superb savory offerings. Toni is now bringing those same delicious delights to Chicago with the opening of her new shop at 65 E. Washington St.

Toni Patisserie and Café is a European style patisserie from Pastry Chef Toni Marie Cox. We first opened our doors in Hinsdale in 1994 and recently opened our second location in the heart of downtown Chicago just steps from Michigan Avenue and Millennium Park.

Only the finest ingredients are used in these “from scratch” shops serving breakfast, lunch and take away sweets and savories daily. Whether it be a savory dish like Quiche Lorraine or a baguette sandwich on fresh baked bread or the sweetness of European style buttercream and the freshest seasonal fruits transformed into utterly sumptuous treats – Toni has something for everyone.

How It Happens

The Toni goal is not only to produce products of the highest quality but also to create an experience for our guests which is equally inviting. We source only the finest ingredients. Fresh fruit and produce at the peak of each season, French and Belgian chocolate and European style butter are a few examples.

Our bakers work around the clock creating products “from scratch”.  This allows us to control the quality and integrity of everything we offer. Our talented designers and decorators hand draw and hand sculpt using buttercream, sugar paste, marzipan, chocolate and fruit.

The design process can draw inspiration from tradition or modern fashion. Sketching ideas while working with clients is the norm. The entire process is approached with absolute care and focus allowing us to produce products and an experience of inherent integrity.
